    NOVA SCOTIA BEE FRIENDLY FLOWERS - BEE helpful and plant bee ready plants

    The second installment on honeybee friendly flowers for your garden.

     

    Tailoring our gardens to ensure the honeybees have adequate and appealing forage throughout their active period is really not that difficult.  It just takes a bit of knowledge and pre-planning.

     

    Please remember that the chart below does not cover every flower or plant, and is provided as a guideline.  (It’s what we will be planting as well).  And again in case you missed the Spring flower blog, HRM is considered to be in plant hardiness zone 6a/6b.

     

    These flowers are considered Summer Bloomers:

     

     

     BEEBALM

    Zone: 4,5,6,7,8,9

    Plant: spring

    Sun: Full

    Blooms :  summer and fall

    Height :  2.5 to 4 feet
